One summer, one hundred feet, eight local high school students and the opportunity to turn a dark and dreary underpass into a flowing, glowing work of art. This mural is on the CTA Redline underpass at Northshore and Glenwood Avenue in Chicago. I created it with a small team of talented high school students. Public art projects effect communities in so many positive ways. The student artists take ownership in their community in a profound way and the neighbors benefit daily from their desire to contribute something permanent and wonderful.
"Public art strengthens communities."
